Re: Best Buy Price Match...
Sprint will be selling the phone off contract for $549. BB is offering it off contract for a ridiculous $699. I'm currently in the process of getting them to sell it to me for $549 .... they must be calling around to the Sprint stores to verify. I'll update if I am successful or not on this pre-order.
Haha... screw Best Buy. Won't price match because they won't make any money off of it.Last edited by leerage; 05-14-2012 at 03:49 PM.

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
Anyone talk to a best buy about price matching Walmart or Sams club at 149 and still getting the pre order gift card also. bringing the price down to 99

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
Is any of this in lieu of the "Chose Phone Freedom" $50 gift card promotion BB ran back late January/early February?

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
-> leerage: Assuming you haven't upgraded in the last 8 months...
Ask Sprint about the Upgrade Now promotion. The most you'd pay is $365 + tax. ($200 phone + $165 to "Upgrade Now") Then if you went to Best Buy, you could get the walmart price match and $50 gift card if you preorder and more if you have an original Evo to trade in. So, in total you could be paying $265 or less if you last upgraded more than 8 months ago.
PS, according to their own posted Price Match policy, you should be able to get the $550 price match since it is in a local physical store and you would have an ad to prove it. If the store you went to won't ask for the manager or go to a different store. It's corporate policy they should be following. - 05-31-2012, 12:16 AM #33
Re: Best Buy Price Match...
Ok so I need to stop by a local walmart and pick up an ad. Online they have the Evo lte in there circular good til june 2 only problem is it doesn't list a price. right next to it is the htc one x for 158. Don't think best buy will go for it since it doesn't have a price listed but it's a start then maybe I could get them to call and verify the price? will it work that way?
here's a screen of the Ad I should be able to pick this exact one up in the store - 05-31-2012, 08:04 AM #34Phone: HTC EVO 4G LTE

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
my local BB say they will not match online prices. Local Walmart does not carry Sprit.

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
I bought the phone at BB and got the phone freedom and another $50 off because of some deal if you upgrade to an LTE and activate by Jul 1 you get the $50. So I paid $100 then I found out Wal-Mart had it for $149 so I went back for a price match and they just called the local Walmart to confirm since it's a regular price and not a sale ad and gave me another $50 back. They did have to find a Wal-Mart that sells Sprint as there are several in my area. Apparently different Wal-Marts sell differnt carriers.

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
That is what I'm going to try. I'm not going to ask for them to price match there while doing all the gift cards and etc. but just going to go back in a week or two and show them my receipt that the price was 199 and Walmart has it for 150. Hopefully I can get an extra 50 off - 06-01-2012, 08:17 AM #41

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
So, theoretically, I could take my OG Evo to BB tomorrow with a Walmart ad, and get the new EVO for free..... ??

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
True by BB called the one that carries Sprint and they confirmed they have a list price of $150 so even though it wasn't in stock yet they matched it. I guess it helps that I shop at my BB quite a bit and have bought my last several phones there as well as those for hubby and kids (not to mention TV and other appliances). My BB has outstanding customer service which is why I go to them first.

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
Mine was a preorder but none of the discounts applied to that. I would say that if they don't have them in yet the discounts should still be good when they do.
I know the price match ($50 there) is always good. If you signed up for the phone freedom then it's good through the end of the year. The email about the $50 off for this phone was good, I believe, through July 1 but you might want to double check that one. They should state it online or at your store.
Hope that helps.

Re: Best Buy Price Match...
I picked up my EVO on Tuesday at a best buy mobile store. If you have an OGEVO, preordered the EVO, and are upgrading or starting from scratch the walk out price of the EVO should be around $50. At least that was my experience, and that's with preordering the phone last Friday. I didn't worry and did not do the research on price matching and still came out in my favor. This phone is by far the best phone I've had the pleasure to hold in my hands

So excited. Went to my BB store, they confirmed the price match, told them I have an OG EVO... The manager there said "with the gift card we give you, you're getting a free phone." Then I reserved my phone for $50. I can't wait until 10 am tomorrow!
