I expect the phone I pre-ordered direct from Sprint to come via UPS the moment it has cleared customs. I'm assuming that Best Buy is not making the phones directly in the basement of each store, so they will likely be waiting for... a shipment via UPS.

The only difference is, mine will be at my front door, and I will open the box and power it up. At Best Buy, it will be buried in a myriad of boxes of $100 HDMI cables and other weird, antiquated crap sold only in B&M stores, then unpacked into backstock, then stocked, then you have to wait for some mouthbreathing highschool dropout to call you and tell you the phone arrived, then you have to drive over there and argue with a different mouthbreather that you don't need insurance, and maybe... maybe... they will find your phone and give it to you.

while your sentiment is right, I am first on my local best buys preorder list. I expect them to call me the night before and then go in first thing when they open and check out. worst case scenario is that general public is there, but there were only 8 preorders at my store, so i doubt demand will be very high.

In this scenario, they would call you the night before, when they receive it. I will have received mine, earlier that day.

this is getting ridiculous once again. At this point, I am only going to listen to what comes from InsideSprintNow. With Sprint emailing the pre-orders that there is a delay and no launch date in sight and Best Buy emailing customers a new release date and then rescinding that same email hours after, it looks like no one knows what's going on. I'm getting to the point where all this needless drama is outweighing my excitement for the phone...

No movement on my UPS tracking number to an actual shipped status....still the label status. And Inside Sprint Now is just as lame as the other sites....teased us with some updates (perhaps made up) and now isn't giving any good information. Lame!

Not that it makes a big deal, but Sprint was supposed to change my upgrade date to today so I could get the LTEVO. Guess what they didn't do? Then I call them up, and they make it seem like they're doing me this huge favor for going ahead and processing it now for me. Sometimes Sprint really annoys me. If I didn't get good reception and a great employee discount with them....

More likely Sprint discovered this hole and filled it in...Most companies don't like their internal discussions or dirty laundry being aired publicly.

It's not really a hole, Sprint had just made out the labels, UPS alerted people with the MyChoice service and then they found out they couldn't actually ship the product due to the ITC issue.

I fully expect for this tracking page to update once it's in the hands of UPS and actually shipping. Nobody is hearing otherwise of the product shipping so that's the best I think we've got to go on right now unfortunately.

Edit: Or you mean the "leak" that was giving out information to Inside Sprint Now? Because that could very well be too!

7AM Update – HTC EVO 4G LTE Launch*Delay

Morning, all! After some MUCH needed sleep, and catching up on some emails, I just wanted to give a quick update before I head into the office to see what the day will bring.

I CAN confirm that an email with out to the 3rd Party distro with the 5/23 date.
Since Best-Buy is saying ‘whoops’ for sending the email, I’m not sure if they got smacked for releasing the date first, or if someone just messed up.
I do believe I’ll be able to get a copy of the actual email today to post.
There is a 2PM Conference bridge today about the launch.. but we’ve had these daily at some point each day, so don’t get too excited. Yesterday’s was simply boring stuff we all already knew. Generally these are not the venue for breaking news.
Also, thanks to everyone that’s been reading the blog over the past couple of days, I’ve been able to get in touch with someone who actually works for the warehouse in Louisville yesterday! It took me a while to figure out how to verify who they were, but finally I was able to do so. According to them, we have some stock there that is in the foreign trade zone (aka customs) and some that is not. Apparently some of the earlier shipments have been in the racks for a while(some are always held back for replacements, demos, store models, training phones,etc…). They have indeed picked and packed both sections for the ones that are being shipped out, and last night they were prepping for ‘rollout’. I don’t have any more information than that… but I’m determined to find some out today

Time for the morning commute. Hopefully I’ll be able to confirm something more soon. In the meantime, if you’re new to ISN, I’ve posted a TON of stuff over the past few years you might find interesting, so check it out – and let me know what else you’d like to see. From training docs, to processes, to launch decks…. I am generally so accustomed to seeing it all so much that I only post stuff that I think would be REALLY interesting to others.. but if there’s other stuff you’re curious about, please speak up!

Told my husband about the further delay. His response? "You could cancel your preorder and I'll get the iPhone 4s and you can have your 3d back."

The Evolte was to be my Mothers Day present.

Meanwhile, I'm still stuck on my daughter's old purple optimus (that doesn't charge properly) since I went ahead and moved my old EVO phones around to her and my hubby.
