Take a deep breath guys. You're causing yourselves a lot of stress for no good reason. The shipping message has changed half a dozen times since we order the damn thing and this is most likely just another little hiccup in the system.

Looking better? You do realize that exactly the same status that it has been for most of the last week, right?

I'm still going with some timer tripped all the statuses to the "backordered" message. Something like if an order hasn't been fulfilled in a week, change the status to "backordered". Now that they are having to field 12 million calls from irate customers, someone went in and changed the status back.

Honestly im not all that worked up...its jus if I dont get it prior to launch id have been better off jus going into the store thats all...cause the sales people will gladly give you someone elses phone who didnt bother to come in to pick it up

Yep I know it's the same status as yesterday but it sounds a lot better than back ordered, especially if it's not actually back ordered. Sprint was probably getting lots of calls about the status and manually changed it back to the previous status.

Just had a CS rep tell me the earliest pre-orders would be out is the 18th. I don't think they know. The best think is to distract ourselves and try to wait it out calmly.

I think they are just getting tired of answering phone calls from us. Saying the 18th is a way for them not to have to **** more people off when they don't arrive early. Honestly, I think Sprint needs to rework their entire order process to be more fluid and combine sprint.com/sprint stores/e-bills all in one site. Every rep is never on the same page as it is, so having different accounts/sites is only going to make it worse. I'm sure we'll hear more today or even tomorrow. They should ship so we can either get them by Thursday or Friday (at the latest).

Shipping starts tonight at 11PM according to reps in Sprint's forums. People close should have them tmrw, others Thursday I would guess.

"We will do our best to ship your new HTC EVO 4G LTE to you before others get a glimpse on Friday, May 18th. During this pre-order period, we will send you a confirmation email. A second confirmation email with your tracking number will be sent upon shipping. Beginning 5/15 @ 11:01PM CST, the business as usual timeframe of 2-5 business days will apply."

Hopefully the 2-5 days thing isn't true though.

I just spoke with a Sprint Rep. They said they have them in warehouse & they should ship today. Status will supposedly reflect tracking numbers in a few hours... Hopefully its truth LOL!

yeah i almost feel like the order status changed from "backorder" to "thanks for pre-ordering" because they are shipping. they just dont want to actually say theyre shipping until all the trucks actually leave the facility. THEN theyll send an email saying "oh btw, it shipped."

Yes, they all ship from Louisville, KY, as that is where UPS' main hub is located. I guess I'm pretty lucky to live there then, huh?

The 11:01 pm time makes sense as order status changes at that time. I have a small python script that checks my order status every 10 minutes and sends me an email if it's changed and it was updated last night at that time. If I had to guess they might be going out sometime today but we won't get an order status update till it hits 11:01 pm central.

And yeah I'm a nerd I know. But someone else wrote the script on XDA I just modified it to work for me
