The release date has changed, but we do not know the new release date yet.

Sprint has not yet announced the new release date, but we'll let you know as soon as we know it.

Be assured that your pre-order is still valid. You can expect that your device will be ready to ship or pick up on the day that it's released.

If this gets pushed into late May/early June the GS3 will reap the benefit of it. It was one thing to have to wait a month, will be another thing totally to have to wait a week or two.

I would assume that is the reason. If Sprint doesn't have a firm date they don't want Best Buy telling everyone its coming on the 23rd, when they probably just picked a date.

FYI, I don't think Sprint knows any more than we do ATM.

I was at Sprint yesterday, friend of mine is a sales rep and he knows I'm a moderator here and he asked me, " What are your sources saying? Sprint isn't telling me anything and he hates having no answer to give to dozens and dozens of pre ordered customers."

He told me he's been following our blogs and threads on this subject because as of Thursday afternoon Sprint hadn't even passed out anything solid to tell customers about Friday's date being squashed.

Soo.. That about sums it up folks.. We don't know and it appears Sprint isn't giving the reps anything solid to work off of either.

Confirmed! I just got the Best Buy email as well. Quite dissapointing and probably one of the worst releases I have experienced. But I'm not in a mad panic to upgrade, so I can wait a bit more. I think this phone is well worth the wait!

I think you might be right. This needs to come to a head NOW. This phone must be released before June.

News reports all over the place today about the GSIII already getting over 9 million pre-orders. HTC cant have their thunder taken away from them.

Best Buy probably got in trouble for sending out the date first. An official email has apparently gone out to Sprint 3rd party distributors.

Calm down, calm down.... I'm confident that the May 23rd date will stick. (Well hoping, at least)

My local Sprint Store said Sprint sent out a email about the delay. They told them not to put out any promotional material. So all Sprint Stores got the notification.

Look, its been quite a roller coaster ride for the last several days. Best thing i could say is simply wait for an official word about the launch. You know they're going to do all they can to put the phone out.

Everything we've been thinking and talking about, i'm sure they have discussed like new phones coming out and angry customers canceling their order.

I agree. Sounds logical. How could a third party reseller put the date out ahead of Sprint?
