Re: Wirefly Pre-orders
I'm in the same boat, but I'm seriously considering cancelling my order if it turns out I can get one in a store over the weekend (don't know if that's possible, but I'm just saying).
Here's my situation. I pre-ordered on Wirefly at 8am Central time on May 7th because they offered $50 off. Later, I found out about the "Friends and Family" deal for $80 off, so I'm stuck paying $30 more than everyone else.
I emailed Wirefly asking for info, especially since I'm moving next week, so my shipping address will change. I got a response a full day later offering apologies for the delay but no more info. I emailed again a couple days later, and received no response to my questions.
First unsolicited response from Wirefly about the customs delay came on the 22nd, when they sent the email saying the phones cleared customs, and the line saying "the phones will literally spend about 1 hour in our distribution facility before we ship them out the door."
I waited some more, did a chat yesterday. The agent couldn't say exactly when the phones would ship, but upgraded my shipping to next business day for free and said my order would be "shipped on priority basis once we have the phone model available in our stock." I don't know what priority status entails or when I can expect my phone to be shipped in relation to the other pre-orders, so I can't say whether this will make a difference (it obviously hasn't yet).
So my receipt still hasn't been updated, says "ships May 18th" and still has my FedEx 2 day shipping listed instead of the upgrade, and the 2-3 week shipping estimate, "pending approval."
Again, my big issue here is that I'm moving. Come next Thursday, I won't be at my current shipping address. Yes that's a week away, but it's currently after 8:30pm and there's no sign that any EVOs shipped from Wirefly today. So maybe they start shipping tomorrow, which means FedEx's next business day shipping would deliver to me on Tuesday, due to the holiday. I can't be home for delivery, so I don't know if FedEx will leave the phone if leave a note. So maybe I'd have to wait another day for delivery, which would be Wednesday, when I start moving.
And that's if Wirefly ships before the weekend, which is definitely not a given at this point. So I'm left wondering if I'll be stuck for another week or more because Wirefly hasn't kept us updated.Last edited by blorgon; 05-24-2012 at 09:32 PM. Reason: spelling error

wirefly told me that they don't require a signature for delivery.

Re: Wirefly Pre-orders
They also said they get their phones directly from HTC so they would get them about the same time as Sprint, and that the phones only spend about an hour in their facility. Either they don't have the phones in stock or they don't spend only 1 hour in their facility, so at least one of those statements can't be right. So I don't know if I would believe them about the delivery signature at this point. I'm not trying to slander them or anything, I'm just pointing out the lack of proper communication with their customers. Yes, this whole situation was beyond their control, but they can control how they inform their customers.

Re: Wirefly Pre-orders
This is my first and last order with wirefly. I can deal with delays, and I won't die if I'm not the first to get the phone, but for gods sake, if I take the time to call or chat and ask for an update, give me a little more than "we don't know when we will have stock or when your phone will ship, but you can check back again in the future." That has literally been the response of a half dozen people at wf through phone and chat. Just pathetic.

There is no change to my shipping status and no release date yet. Sprint and Wirefly have really let me down.

Re: Wirefly Pre-orders
It sounds like two groups have their phones... people who ordered online with sprint, and people who ordered in store at best buy... such a screwed up launch.
edit: I guess it is just us (amazon/wirefly) now. Bestbuy.com orders are being shipped overnight... even radio shack and target are getting pre-order inventory in. (source - inside sprint now)Last edited by decke003; 05-25-2012 at 07:49 AM.

Re: Wirefly Pre-orders
Yeah same here.. I saw WF from here about the 119.99$ decided to hop on that...
Well at least from ISN they said that they might hear an actual launch date from sprint today... either way ... I'm assuming we aren't getting our phones at least mid to end of next week. - 05-25-2012, 09:57 AM #67
either way you will have to wait indefinitely, why not wait till you know sprint store is selling the phone then cancel the order? for all we you, those who order from wirefly might get it sometimes next week. we all waited long enough, it makes no sense to cancel now unless you know for sure you can walk into a Sprint store today and pick up the phone.

Re: Wirefly Pre-orders
I'm standing on the porch and FedEx pulls up to deliver my shiny new.....freaking bluetooth that came free with my LTEvo...that I still don't have!!!!

I didn't receive a shipping notification for this, which leads me to believe that I will not receive one when my phone actually ships. Just an FYI. - 05-25-2012, 12:09 PM #70
Re: Wirefly Pre-orders
As of 1:00PM EST from one of the Customer Reps I chatted with.
Mahender : Unfortunately, we do not have a firm shipping date for the HTC EVO 4G LTE phone and we are expecting to get next update regarding the availability of the phone very soon.
Mahender : However, as for now we have not received any update regarding the shipment of the phone.
Mahender : I assure you that once it becomes available in stock, we will process the order on priority basis for you.
So basically they don't even have the shipments yet.
They did give me free one day shipping now instead of two day. - 05-25-2012, 12:31 PM #71

Re: Wirefly Pre-orders
Wirefly uses FedEx to ship and FedEx makes treats Saturday as a business day meaning they deliver for the same price so if Wirefly ships them today, we could get them tomorrow.
I really want my phone now, but I don't blame Wirefly...if they had the phones I am sure they would love to sell them and make money. Sprint, HTC, or customs is to blame. I'm going to go with Sprint for being their usual selves. How hard is to have a product before you sell it? I'm sure they do this crap just to try and create a buzz about the phone, but they just look like immature idiots to me. You would think Sprint just opened a cell phone business last week and hasn't figured out how to run things yet. The lack of information from Sprint is because they are embarrassed . . . .and they should be. - 05-25-2012, 01:05 PM #75
