Re: Amazon Preorders....
I finally couldn't take it anymore...went to Walmart and picked up the one LTE they had in stock. I admit to being a little concerned about how the activation etc was going to go, but all went well. WM person even did the ESN swap with sprint for me before I ever turned on the phone.
Even better, I did call Sprint and told them I was about to do this and asked to use MY phone number with early upgrade (it will be eligible June 1..in the meantime I was using the upgrade on my wifes phone and then ESN swap)....they apologized but said they were no longer allowed to early upgrade Premier customers...BUT she waived the $36 activation fee! Cool.
$158 plus $12 tax and I have my phone! And just rooted it.misc>Launch Day PalmPre>>Launch Day EVO!>ditto Evo 3d>>Ditto Evo LTE - 05-30-2012, 10:59 PM #127
I don't think amazon is sitting on a thousand phones, no. If I was the CEO those phones would be in the hands of my customers so I could get their money...
Doesn't make a lot of sense as to why we don't have our phones yet either. Does it really make sense to hold everyone in the dark and hide the fact your sitting on phones? That's the dumbest thing I could think of doing as a business.
What the real truth is no one has a thousand phones to sell other than what is currently shipping and the ones just passing customs. If anyone could sell u a phone to make money they would. It's not an Amazon/Sprint/HTC conspiracy.

Re: Amazon Preorders....
Yeah, they almost seem to encourage me to cancel the preorder. Its a little weird. If thats because they know they won't get them before July, just say so already! I'm not usually one to write off companies because I do enjoy saving a buck or two, but there is a real decent chance I'll never use them again. They could still make it right I suppose, but I sincerely doubt they will. I'm disappointed that I tried to do business with them.

Re: Amazon Preorders....
I never said they had the phones. I don't believe for a minute they do, because even they're not that stupid. What I absolutely believe is that someone higher up in AmazonWireless does know where they are or roughly when to expect them, but thought it was a better business decision to just say nothing at all. He/She was mistaken in my opinion, and obviously that of most everyone else posting here. My point is that there is no way they know as little as they're passing along. Its not possible.

Yeah, if I can go on usps and track a package I'm sure they can too. Makes it frustrating when u think of it that way. It should be as simple as shipping some phones. In this case I think that they are having a lot of difficulty moving phones thru customs.
And if you have ever purchased items thru foreign countries, no tracking info exists. Even if it already hit the states u won't know until u receive it.
The likely way these phone are coming is thru shipping containers too tho. So, idk a lot about it other than season 2 of the wire. They should have confirmation of it hitting the states in that case tho. A truck driver could give the 411 on it for crying out loud.
Maybe they do know exactly where they are and this is just a backfire from their strategy to seem strong. Idk. Really just makes them seem weak in my opinion as well.

Wow! Really wish they put the attention into the phone as they do the stupid car charger. So nice to be bothered everyday to approve the delay in it. Where is it already, can't wait to get it?

Re: Amazon Preorders....
Exactly...and if thats the problem they're having, they should just say so. "We know they left HTC on day X, but they haven't gotten to Sprint yet. As soon as they do, they'll be in our warehouse the next day, and out that same day to our customers" Not terribly difficult.

Im elgible for an upgrade but they're lieing saying they can't upgrade me 2 years. Was here for 2 hours and they made me pay $586. Thought I could get sprint to reimburse me, but when I called the "supervised" at sprint called it lrp EVO 4g. Said that I couldn't use it to upgrade bc I paid full price for it.
I'll just wait. Not spending $286 more when I can wait and pay my rent today.

People are so stupid. Can't believe how dumb they are. Walmart lady was thumping the brand new LTE and playing with it before I even paid for it. She about dropped it. Wanted to strangle her she is so rude.

Their excuse was they only upgrade to 2013. How is that when its 2012 and it takes a 2 year upgrade? Forget it, I'm doomed with this phone. Just gonna wait until best buy or Amazon gets it so I can upgrade for $149.

Sorry for all the posts guys. Just frustrated as hell I had the phone, was told I could have it for $158. Then they pull the rug right from under me saying, please get this, if you try and upgrade at Walmart they will not honor u if you have more than a year left on your current contract and want to just upgrade to 3 years.
I'm doing this instead of buying my time out to upgrade. Only had my contract a year, but I am elgible for a full upgrade thru best buy, sprint, anywhere buy Walmart.
Does this vibe with any of u guys?
I impulsively bought it for full price, but after learning sprint wouldn't credit my account instead of giving me $ off phone I took it back. $600 is a good amount to me. Had buyers remorse, so I took it back.
What would u guys have done? I know if I was rich the phone would mean more than money, but I had to pay rent and didn't want to dip into savings...
Feel worse than never having it. Plus haven't slept since work all nite, so I probly can't make much sense. Apologies.

You did the right thing,I really like the new new HTC Evo4GLTE ,but I agree $600.00 is way to much for a phone. Unless you have money to burn and can't wait,. Sprint,Best Buy,Amazon will all have it soon, just be patient.
