I've had about 4 random reboots... While in my belt clip and case. Get phone off blt and it's rebooting. Not rooted yet, so that's not it. Just installing all the apps I had on my 3d.
If I can't figure it out and still happening by Sunday I'm requesting a replacement.

Re: Official Q&A Thread: Got Minor EVO Q's? Post em here!
I'm going to try and answer some questions before posting some of my own lol.
@ Brodequin: Emails and texts flash like the OG Evo (as far I can tell at least)
@ Several people: The turning off LTE/CDMA to CDMA only has been posted with screenshots on page 1
@ Malikshuman: For auto rotate there are lots of built in toggles so that you can choose and lock the mode you want i.e. tap to make landscape, no auto-rotate. I'm sure there are other solutions but this is the best imo
@mojaxson : There does not appear to be a "none" option or anything for notifications but you might try deleting the options under profile until you have none left to select that might yield a none, or you can go to specific items (email and text for sure) and go into their individual settings and eliminate notification sounds (email --> menu button --> settings--> uncheck notification sound, same style for texts)
So first thing I noticed was without a dedicated search button at the bottom of the phone, things like quick searching and voice actions are virtually impossible. While you could use the google search widget, that takes up 4 spots to perform 2 actions. The work around I employed was using the google search app and the app GVS (Galaxy Voice search or something I think?) Which just provides a 1x1 block app that bring up the voice app. There may be more options around this but it is what I have found.
Now for the unsolved. I cannot for the life of my figure out how the hell to advance email messages without going back and selecting another. This is just the most annoying thing ever. No longer can I cycle through all my unreads in a quick and easy fashion, now I most go back to mail from the back button or top and choose the next email. Any tips/tricks? I'd rather not use a 3rd party app but if I must I must.
This thread is great. I figure this community stayed tight during EVOGATE (heh) and I think we can all work together and help each other out. - 05-25-2012, 04:03 PM #32

Re: Official Q&A Thread: Got Minor EVO Q's? Post em here!
- after installing my shiny new sd card, I set Google Music to download all my music for offline usage. Apparently all the music has gone to the internal storage, and I cant figure out how to tell it to go to my sdcard instead.
- I use Google Voice, not the sprint voicemail app. In my running apps it constantly shows Voicemail but the "Disable" button is grayed out. I'd rather not have this constantly using 6.9MB of ram (as it is reporting), how do you disable it?FApple - 05-25-2012, 04:52 PM #34
Re: Official Q&A Thread: Got Minor EVO Q's? Post em here!
I would say your best bet is going to be loading your music straight to your SD card by connecting it up to your computer. Transferring all that music to your phone then to SD is going to take ages.
As far as I can tell it seems like Google Voice and Voicemail take up the same space and use the same resources despite being set up differently and being different products. Odds are thats why there is no option to disable. Not 100% sure, just best guess at this point. - 05-25-2012, 07:57 PM #35
This keyboard notification is getting fairly annoying for me. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

if you are using the platinum case from best buy was happening to me when in clip the clip was holding the power button and when pulled out if case it will press the power button turning on the phone. stopped using holster no more reboots. for me it was the volume down in the case if would keep going to vibrate because the buttons were being presed buy the case

there is a way to get google music to download direct to the external sd card, via a script that loads on boot, but you need root. Will post a link once I get back to my desktop

Totally agree that the Google search thing is way too big and is really just a launcher instead of a true widget, like it should be.
Your question about email advancing without going back to the list is a good one. Doesn't swipe advance work? I thought that was in ICS, but maybe not sense?? - 05-26-2012, 07:27 AM #44
Re: Official Q&A Thread: Got Minor EVO Q's? Post em here!
Are you in the regular mail app or gmail? side-to-side swipe seems to work fine, just have to make sure and hit the edge of the bezel first so it doesn't just scroll within the message. Might take some practice but I am sure it will end up being second nature pretty fast.
My own Q, is there a shortcut to control the media volume when you're not in something that triggers it normally? Since apparently the only way to turn the amazingly loud camera sounds down is with the media volume, I'd like to be able to do that on the fly. Or is the answer to turn it down all the time and then turn it back up when playing music? I really hope sound-off is in a future camera patch. - 05-26-2012, 08:37 AM #45

Key board notification - this will not go away. This is an ICS setting to change input type.
You used to be able long press in text field but it changed.
Notification - set your tone as silent. This should be in the default selections on phone
Email- you should be able to swype back and forth without using the back button.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get the messaging app show the NAME of the person you are talking to instead of the phone number?
The name shows up top, but in the convo each time someone texts me it shows as:
123-456-7890 (Mobile): Hi there!
Instead of the name. Very annoying.
