Battery Life

First, if you look at that screen shot I provided, I did have it plugged in for a little bit there at the end. But, I've easily gotten 20 hours with medium usage (2-3 hours screen on time, streaming a couple hours of music some surfing, some testing, and a couple of phone calls.

I have made it a "full day" (18 hours) ever since I've had this beast.

Barring something wrong with your phone, either you usage pattern is a lot higher than mine or you have poor service compared to mine. Have you switched your network mode to CDMA only from CDMA/LTE?

ah, I see now what you mean. I saw where you plugged it in. Thanks for the advice on switching it to CDMA mode only

Average weekend use from Friday afternoon through very early Sunday morning. Didn't make but a few calls.

No complaints with battery life here. I am draining about 1% per hour when idle so I think I may be able to squeak out some more runtime with some additional optimization

So, I just had to try it. I commute 5.5 hours on Mondays and Thursdays. This morning with my phone at 100%, I started a Google Nav session to my first gas stop.

235 miles and 3 hours and 15 minutes later I was down to 13%. Not bad for constant GPS and 3G data.

Btw, checkout the pic, I've never seen anything use more battery than the screen before.

So this is what I've been getting. As you can see its not good. I've also had to charge it around 5 or so hours of use. And this is with the advice I've gotten in this forum. Any suggestions after seeing my usage?

Man i dont understand this. Your screen is using most of the power and it still goes so fast...

I have my brightness set to 100% and i easily get 24hrs per charge. (closer to 15hrs with moderate to heavy use)

It looks like you partially charged in the middle of the cycle thus resetting the timer.

Hmm

Right before I plugged it in to charge. Granted mostly on wifi.

If it want for the multitasking I wouldn't even consider getting rid of this phone.

My EVO LTE was amazing for the first 2 days but it's gone to hell now. No matter what I do the battery is draining crazy fast off wi-fi and it's killing me. I'm going to exchange it and hopefully that fixes the issue.

Restore to factory defaults option and use it that way for a while and see if it is something you did, set, or loaded that is causing the problem.

Restart your phone. The battery life is great on my Evo, however, one day I noticed it draining faster than normal. It resumed Itz awesomeness once I restarted it.

I was pretty impressed the first few days I had mine, around 20-24 hours and I was using it pretty heavily (though in all fairness that usually included at least 6 hours of sleep). Now I'm getting like 11 hours. It still feels like it's doing a good job, but by night time I do have to plug it in. I definitely would love for it to get back to those 20-24 hour days. I can't believe some of the numbers you guys are getting.... I feel like I should blame games like Scramble with friends for running in the background.

Last few days i've noticed that chrome beta is still buggy. Twice now it has been up to 70% of my battery drain and killed me quick... I'll unload it and reload and see if that helps. If not its no chrome for now

I ended up excahning for another model because I began having issues with the phone. BUt I think my battery issue may be an issue with Sprint and it's network. Recently recpetion and 3G have been horrible where I work and spotty around where I live. (I stay in Baltimore for the record.) Today I took the evo to work and used it as normal and it's doing horrible.

Mind you

- Screen set to auto brightness
- GPS off
- All uneeded apps disabled
- CDMA only

I'm going to need SPrint to send me an Air Rave or give me a credit for this horrible network

yikes....i just feel like if i didn't have good service in the two places i would be in the most (home and work)

I would not be using that service provider.

I got a good 18 hours last night and was still on 20% battery. Battery is literally no longer a concern for me which is the LAST thing i would ever say about the Evo.

I've been tempted top leave sprint but their plans are the best and until recently my service has been amazing. But I guess they are upgrading the towers for 4G and toher updates but it's becoming a huge hassle.
