    Default TuneIn Radio

Is TuneInRadio built into the ROM?

When I search for TIR on Play, it showes as installed, yet the icon is nowhere to be found... When you click on TIR in Market/Apps, it does not give you an option to Install nor Open, as other apps give you... anyone with this problem? I can't live without TIR!!!

It should be there. Startup the music app and it should be shown there. I already had the Pro version so I installed that and replaced it in the music app. It also shows up in the car app.

When I click on the red Music Icon, it opens a page with three icons only... My phone, Sprint Music Player and SoundHound on top... below these three icons, there are the recently played songs from my sd card... When I click Menu, it shows "add app shortcut", but TuneIn Radio is no where to be found.

    is my phone different??

I can't think why your phone would be different unless you're not in the U.S.

Did you try the market on the internet instead of through the phone? I looked in HTC Hub but didn't see it.

I couldn't find a shortcut to the app but there is a Tunein widget.

There is a soundhound widget under "shortcuts" tab but the only one i can find for tune in is a 4x1 widget. I need just an normal 1x1 icon, any ideas?

I was able to install Sound Hound from the Market and this gave me the seperate app icon. I see TuneIn Radio app listed under all apps (in the app manager util) but I don't see an icon for it in the app drawer, so not sure how to get it onto the desktop. I can access the app from Car Dock mode, but that's not always how I want to use this app. It looks like the app can be uninstalled from the App Manager util, so maybe uninstalling it and reinstalling it will fix the issue? Not sure. I'd hate to mess up the Car Dock integration. Weird that HTC implemented the app like this.

I know this isn't what you want exactly but add the icon for "Music" to the home screen, then when you tap on that you can switch to Tunein. I have the pro version of Tunein from my previous phone so I installed that and it puts an icon in the app drawer. I switched it out in the music app as well. I was not able to switch it in the car app.

I think the HTC version is the same as the pro version since I never saw any ads in it.

When I view TuneIn Radio from the app store, it indicates that the free one is what's installed. The paid version does not indicate that it's installed. I experienced the exact same thing with Sound Hound. I have the paid version and when I installed it, I got the app in the app drawer and it was still integrated into the music player. I'd hate for someone to uninstall the version that is pre-installed and then install the free version from the app store to have it mess up the integration into the Car Dock.

You'll find that the Soundhound in the music app is not the same one that you bought which should be called Sounhound Infinity. I switched that in the music app as well. Switching them in the music app doesn't do anything to the app itself. I added both back to the music app and took a screen shot so you can see the difference. You can see the little infinity symbol next to the upper Soundhound button.

As for the car dock, I wanted to switch google nav with telenav but it wouldn't let me. I think it's still using the HTC version of Tunein in the dock.

WORK AROUND. So I got the Amazon AppStore App, registered my device, etc. Navigated to to here on my PC: Amazon.com: TuneIn Radio: Appstore for Android and it gave me the tunein update... put it both in the music folder as well as a stand alone app so i could put the 1x1 on my home screen.
