If that issue does exist, I hope they're working hard at fixing it. It's not like I need 350+ apps installed, but at the same time I should be able to use the storage that's available to me. When most of those apps are games and other things that don't run in the background, there really shouldn't be a downside so long as I leave a reasonable amount of free space as well.

Oh well, I'll just be glad for now that I can finally install all the apps that I truly do want, without worrying about space and having to pick some apps over others like I did with my OG EVO!

this takes you to the google page, having trouble doing the direct link since AndroidCentral i having an issue right now with a rogue malware warning

Default Re: My EVO 4G LTE Just Died UPDATE~ NEW REPLACEMENT NOW DEAD

Just this afternoon picked up my shiny new replacement from Best Buy...totally new shipment which had just came in. I added no apps and 15 minutes later the first random reboot. It rebootted7 times in two hours and then just t turned itself off and won't come back to life.

    No...the battery isn't dead.

Plug it into any charger and the charging light doesn't come on.

    Seriously....this is frustrating.

At least you got a replacement. The camera in my wife's LTE doesn't work right and they won't replace it until their preorders are filled.

Interesting. I didn't even notice the "Hardware Version" until now. Mine is also a version "3". Makes one wonder what the differences are between 1, 2, and 3... and how many are in the wild. I will start a new thread on it...

Default Re: My EVO 4G LTE DIED 2ND REPLACEMENT NEW HARDWARE VERSION FIXED

    Hey guys,
So I'm on my second Evo 4G LTE (first one had 3g connection problems, but no matter) and all of a sudden, the phone just powered down while I was using it last night. So, throughout the night and when I woke up, I keep trying to turn on the phone and it doesn't respond. I even tried plugging it in overnight and it won't charge (light won't turn on). Anyone know what caused this??

I'm waiting for Best Buy to open in 2.5 hours so I'm hoping I can at least get some of my info off the phone before I exchange it. Anybody know of a temporary solution.

No matter how long I hold the power button it doesn't respond. Sometimes, (about 3 out of 20 times) it will power on and go through the boot screen animation. Once it gets to the lockscreen, I barely get to do anything when it turns off again. Also, as I said earlier, the charging light doesn't come on no matter what I do unless it does the little bootup I just mentioned.

Any help to get it on to get my info will be truly apprecaited. TIA.

Were you able to figure out a way to power it on to get your data off of it? I can't even get to the bootloader screen!!

I don't know what was my 1st Evo's h/w version, replacement I got two days ago (due to camera issues onfirst) is version 3, never paid attention until this threaad title was changed.

FWIW - my earlier version never ever self rebooted, but yesterday morning my new version 3 phone rebooted at least 3-4 times in one hour without any prompts from me, except one when I was trying to turn in it, screen didn't come up and I just tried couple times and it started coming up and rebooted it self. Other 3 times it just randomly decided to reboot itself.

It hasn't happened in last 18 hours while I was on the phone.

makes me wonder if there are some app installs/upgrades happening in the background that force reboot it.

I know this is off topic, but just asking it here in response tothis post...

I tried Nova on first Evo, but I fond it lacking in Widgets.

Looks like HTC Sense and many othe rwdgets taht show up with Sense are hidden from Nova ?

    I missed these :
    1. HTC Sense People Shortcut Wiget which has the 3 x 4 large people pics
    2. Large Clock + Weather HTC widget - I never expected but I love the huge clock and weather combo..

How do you deal with these in Nova ?

Sad update.....the third one worked great since Saturday, this morning shut down on it's own, rebooted on it's own and got stuck in the HTV Quitely Brilliant boot svreen, vibrating it's head off. There was no way to shut it down and when I returned it to BB that way they admitted they had been having more returns for this issue than on any other cell launch they had ever had.

I really wanted this phone but as I use it for work, handle 20-45-calls a day and a ton of emails, it just wasn't meant to be I guess.

This happened how fast into having the phone? It sounds like it only worked for a couple of days before yours started malfunctioning..

It's really odd that this has happened to you on THREE phones!! Sorry to hear it.. hope nothing like this happens to me..

Sounds environmental to me that you have the only three completely crashing phones consecutively.... Something external must be going on here.

I have a theory as to the reasoning of what is going on but first a few questions...
Do you have a case on your phone? Which one?
    Where are you located?
Where do you keep your phone? (shirt pocket, front pocket, back pocket, purse, murse, etc.)

I would like to ask "do you work around any type of machinery, like X-ray/MRI equipment ". which may instantly damage the phone when to close.

For once I agree with you dear Mercury

I ahd that theory when I saw you getting 2nd replacement. Some element in the phone is getting impacted by something but the phone...
