Re: Any evo lte owners in Houston?
I have had my Evo for 4 days now and had a friend tell me my call was cutting in and out so I decided to do a PRL update and Profile update thinking this might help. After the update I noticed that my 3g symbol would come and go on the screen? My GF and I got the phones on the same day and she has had no problems because she did not do the update like I did. We were off Kirby in the same vehicle tonight when her phone had perfect 3g and mine didn't. After my updates I noticed that the mobile network kept disconnecting and connecting?? I could only get my calls and data not to drop if I keep my phone in CDMA only mode. We visited Sprint nearby and I was told by me doing the PRL update that's why my phone was dropping calls and not staying in 3g. Is any one else having this problem? I am new to Sprint and so far not impressed after years with Verizon (very dependable & fast LTE just too $$$) Thanks!

Re: Any evo lte owners in Houston?
Sorry I'm new to the forum and still getting the hang of how to post. How often should I do a PRL update and or Profile update?? I have to keep my phone in CDMA only to keep from having dropped calls I wonder if Sprint is aware of this problem? What exactally will a re activation do? Thanks

Foe this of you that are having 3g cutting in and out or mobile network trying to reconnect all the time issues, give sprint a call and tell them about your issue. They will (or will suppose to) reset your activation. Meaning they will just reactivate your phone as if your setting up your new device again. I wow at best buy and I had a couple customers come in and they were having this issue so I called sprint and they reactivated their phone and it seemed to solve their problem. I think anyways cause they never came back. Good luck

Re: Any evo lte owners in Houston?
The only issue that i have with my issue is the battery life. Not as strong as the others that ive seen on here but i guess that due to me on it all the time. I was lucky enough to not have any other problems such as 3g cutting on and off but as i mentioned before, i work at best buy and quite a few customers had came in with this issue.... all within the past 5 days. I called sprint and explained to them the issue and the basically "reactivated" their device and it fixed the problem. Had i known to call them last saturday when the phone officially launched to those that didnt preorder, I wouldnt of needed to exchange the device for them.
Hope that helps. - 06-07-2012, 12:41 PM #36

Re: Any evo lte owners in Houston?
Still pretty lousy 3G speeds in Southwest Houston 'burbs.
35-85k down, 200-400k up today. - 06-16-2012, 09:24 PM #43
Re: Any evo lte owners in Houston?
Data speeds suck. 3G keeps disconnecting, and Im getting dial up speeds at ALL times. Im in Southeast houston, but i go all over houston all the time. When I had my Evo 3D, my wife used to complain how My Evo 3D was much faster tham her I Phone even with 4g off. Now that I have the "LTE", my wife's I Phone is faster, This has got to be some kinda sin or something in the android community. Ridiculous.

Re: Any evo lte owners in Houston?
Same lousy speeds here. Also in the southwest 'burbs so I guess no surprise. Would be nice to have a data connection that was actually usable.
