Issues receiving text messages

Anyone have the following issue with their EVO 4G LTE? At some point last night, I stopped receiving text messages. I still was able to make calls and receive emails, but no incoming texts. I was sending a bunch of texts last night and I found it odd that I didn't receive any replies. About an hour ago, I decided to restart the phone and then I got a whole slew of text messages since last night. I'm not too happy about that.

lol.. i've had Sprint for YEARS.. Never had an android phone. My phone prior to the EVO 4G LTE was the HTC Arrive windows phone which I actually liked a lot. Maybe it's an android thing?

So has all my Sprint phones, and all my friends' also. It seems very common. Sometimes text messages are instant. Sometimes they are delayed up to an hour. Rarely, they don't go through at all. Doesn't seem to matter which tower, either. It can be very frustrating.

Yes, I have experienced delayed text messages on other phones before for a few hours or so.. but this case was different. All my messages came in as soon as I restarted the phone.

Android phones are recommended to be restarted at least once daily...

But both my fiancee and I have sprint, and all too frequently, once will send a text the other doesn't receive... She has the OG evo and I have a photon..., the photon has a known issue with it so I'm switching to my nexus...

Never had text issues with any of my Sprint Android phones and I don't restart weekly either. Judging by the small responses here, I don't think many here are having issues.

6 friends, all Sprint, every one of them reports it. And various phone models. Of course, it could be this area or region or something.

Well, I'm in md currently, my fiancee is in georgia for work. have friends in az that report it. *shrug*

This must be regional as me and ten of my friends all on Sprint network and none have had text issues.

Hmm I've had the original EVO since launch day and haven't ever had this issue. Once I finally receive my LTEvo, I'll monitor to see if this issue pops up...certainly hope it doesn't!

I just realized I haven't received a text for 6 days. People receive my texts to them. Using stock app. Everything else works fine (emails, calls, internet, etc). Problem exists: with Google Voice installed or not, after updating PRL, LTE on or not. I don't want to waste hours on the phone or in-store with Sprint or do a factory reset. PLS HELP!

I did realize that this phone seems to have trouble with the airave. Do you have one in your house? When I get home and my LTE connects to the airrave, it seems to never receive texts unless I restart it (because with the restart, it seems to connect to a normal tower before it finds the airave). Once it connects to the airrave, it doesn't receive texts. Therefore I turned off the airrave. Btw, Sprint store said if you called sprint they would push an update to fix this issue. Never called sprint but just throwing it out there.

No, I don't use an Airave. So if I called Sprint, they would send the update to me? Or do you mean if enough people called about it, they would push an update to everyone?

they'll update your "data profile" meaning they'll push some update to your phone...

ime, didnt work, but worth a try.

I get text messages while on my Airave. But my voice quality while on the Airave only seems worse on the LTE than it was on my OG Evo or on the Photon that I tried for a couple of weeks. My daughter's Samsung Replenish will work fine on the Airave, and I can hear people fine, but they tell me I'm breaking up.

So I did a factory reset. Nothing. Chatted with Sprint, twice. Still nothing. They "reset" my data on their end and did their step by step troubleshooting, etc etc etc. Said I'd receive a call from the manager within 24 hours. This is really frustrating. I wonder how many texts I've missed these past 7 days?

So I didn't receive a call. Know why? My phone hasn't been receiving calls either! WTF?! I didn't notice since I can call out. About to call Sprint to sort this out. So frustrated

Ok, problem solved! Talked to tech support for 10 min and was back in business! Instead of just refreshing my data profile, he 'reloaded' it. Worked like a charm
