I played around with my phone last night and was able to get the phone to recognize my location like the 3D did.

From the HTC Weather app: "Menu" -> "Settings" -> "My Current Location" needs to be checked. Restart the phone. I also think using the Task Manager may interrupt this service if you are clearing apps out.

I actually have an issue with the weather app and saw this post a while back...

I did check the 'my current location'

But it seems like it keeps telling me there's a thunderstorm outside.. But everytime I go into the app and refresh it, the app tells me the actual weather outside.. but after a couple of hours it changes back to thunderstorm...

I think the weather app is a bit glitchy? Anyone else experiencing some wierdness with the weather app?

Mine seems to work with no issues. Picks up my location and adjusts to when I move.

Same here. Says thunderstorms until I hit refresh. I remember it doing the same thing on the origina.

Check your refresh rates. That was happening to me too on 3hrs and 2hrs. I set it to 1 hour updates and it's been working perfectly. Battery on this phone is so good that I don't mind the more frequent updating anyway.

I'm having the same issue. Always thunderstorms. I have mine set to refresh in 3hr intervals and when I open it, but it always revert back to thunderstorms after a couple hrs.

Is there a place we can report these bugs so HTC can fix them?

I'm having the exact same problem as well, and I have mine refreshing every 3 hours..

Mine is also set to 3 hour refresh but doesn't have the thunderstorm as a default animation. You're not killing the services with the task manager, are you?

My phone many times indicates I am in a different city than I am even though I haven't moved from my desk.

I don't know if it is a GPS issue or what. I had a similar problem with the original HTC EVO 4G.

When at my desk I don't have Wi-Fi, but it often says I am in Baltimore, even though I am still in Menomonee Falls, WI

I couldn't get mine to remove the Current Location regardless of which settings I unchecked. I got tired of it constantly using extra resources to pinpoint my location so I removed the Sense widget and switched to Beautiful Widgets. I had bought it cheap when it was on sale a while back and never used it until yesterday. I actually like it better... The widget and the weather background look amazing.

I just fired up the old EVO3D. Connected via WiFi. It's weather widget is showing the correct weather for Pittsburgh. Where EVOLTE is showing thunderstorms

So it has to be EVO related.
It has been doing this the last 2 days at least with the thunderstorms. Has me keep looking out the window and checking the radar.

Edit: Been driving this week, and the weather widget has been updating quite well to all the reporting stations along the way.

That's great its not just me!
Not a deal breaker.. I can easily click on the weather and really find out.. Just thought of it as an annoyance.

Lets hope for a fix in the first updates

I think I might have a solution. I found my weather app performs as expected when I enabled syncing.

Mine has alwasy been set for one hour updates, also it is set up under sync settings for one hour.

Once i left for work and got down the road last night it started to show the correct weather. Worked fine all night long makeing my deliveries in western Pa. Still fine this morning.
I'll see how it is after I wake up again tonight. That's when it seems to go wierd on me.

I am having the same problem. I have a HTC one V and my weater widget keeps defaulting
back to thunder storms. If I click on the widget and bring up the weather app the top icon will show thunder storms after a few seconds the weather app will update and the top icon will show correct icon. When I go back to the main screen the widget is now showing the correct weather icon but after a short peroid of time the icon will revert back to thunder storms

I tryed every thing listed in this forum with no luck I then downloaded GPS tool kit from play store and did the AGPS statereset. I also added another local city. After doing that I was still
having the same problem so I turned off the phone and went to bed. When I got up this morning I turned the phone on and weather widget has been working corectly all day. I am not sure what setting fixed it but I am sure the key was to reset the phone after the setting was changed
the current settings are
gps on
auto sync on
update when opened checked
scheduled sync checked
update scheudule 3hours
my current location checked

I wonder if this is related to the gps issue. I was in a Sprint store trying out an EVO LTE, and I downloaded speed test. When I launched it, the servers it was picking were in New Mexico, and other locations in the mid west unsteady of San Diego where I was. I pulled out my EVO OG and used speed test. It selected local sites. Just a random thought.
