Re: Dropbox
I know that all I had to do was login to the Dropbox app on my Evo LTE to get the 23gb of added space (plus the standard 2gb brings it to 25gb total...although I'm up to 30.38gb from other stuff).
My friend just texted me asking how to get that an hour ago...he also has an Evo LTE so maybe there's a problem with it right now or after the app has been updated. I'm waiting to hear back from him if he logged in to the app and still didn't receive the space or not. - 07-06-2012, 01:29 PM

Re: Dropbox
One thing i remember is when i hard reset my device, and you go thru the set up process, it has a page for Dropbox. This is HTC dropbox and is different from the dropbox app you get from the play store. My guess is this is what associates your account.
Try to go into Settings > accounts and sync > add and then select dropbox.
Logging in there might give you the added memory.DropBox lets you sync files across Android, iOS, and Desktop Computers. Sign up for free, install, get me and you extra space! DropBox

Re: Dropbox
One issue that I have found was if the user had used the unauthorized storage upgrade that was hacked, then they have your account flagged. An email to customer service clarifying an authorized device will solve the issue.

Re: Dropbox
I went through the additional steps and got the extra 23GB, but then the confirmation email said it was only good for 2 years. Are they going to try and get me hooked and then start charging me in 2 years???
Nowhere did they mention 2 years until I had performed the 5 extra steps to get the additional space. Felt like they had tricked me and I don't like that feeling at all!
I don't think I'm going to use Dropbox because of that. I actually have 25GB from Microsoft and another 2GB from Google Drive; I'll make do with them. - 07-06-2012, 11:37 PM #10
Re: Dropbox
'The promotion is for a single Dropbox personal plan account to receive, for 2 years, an additional 23GB of storage space in addition to the storage space Dropbox offers to users with a free account (currently 2GB). When the 2-year promotion period ends, the user's Dropbox service will automatically downgrade to the current amount of free storage space offered to all users with free accounts unless the user signs up for a Dropbox Pro or Teams subscription." - 07-07-2012, 07:38 AM #11
Re: Dropbox
It was widely advertised as a 2 year promo.... I use both my 25GB Skydrive account (mostly backups) and my now 45GB Dropbox account, both free. Google Drive needs to mature a bit and offer something the others don't already do for me to bother, tho I might try it out for the doc collaboration feature.

Just activate new or existing account during phone setup and then follow directions once you receive email. Went from 2gb to 25.8gb in less than two hours.
