    Default Best way to buy

    Ok,

Real quick, this is NOT a help me decide what phone to get thread. I already know what I want (HTC EVO 4G LTE, I know obvious thread is obvious).

I am a current Sprint customer with two HTC Hero’s (I know really old). I want to purchase two (2) HTC EVO 4G LTE’s. If I purchase the phone from Sprint online directly it is going to cost me $199.99 per phone and I believe they wave the activation fee, but charge sales tax. Now my second option (that I know of) is to purchase the phone from newegg. I can get the phone @ $149.99 each, get $10.00 towards Google Wallet and I won’t be charge sales tax as I live in GA. If I purchase via newegg, will I be charged an activation fee?

What should I do to purchase my phone? Does anyone know of any way to get the phone a little cheaper? It kinda bugs me that new sprint customers get better deals than existing customers.

I'm not really one to trade for stuff.

Has anyone bought a phone from newegg? How does it all work? Do I get the phone and then call Sprint to get everything changed out? I don't really change out phones all that much.

You will absolutely pay the activation fee and they will not waive it. Sucks, I know. I got mine @ BB and walked out the door for less than $70. That included a $100 credit for the OG EVO, though. I think your Hero's are worth about $10 each. But I believe they are still doing the $50 gift card when you activate the phone. But you still get screwed with the sales tax.

Price match amazonwireles..com at Best Buy, or just get it from Amazon Wireless.

Go to best buy and get them to price match Radio Shack. And get the Black Tie protection. It's around 10 bucks a month and there's no deductible. Much better than the Sprint insurance.

Most best buy's won't (unless they get manager approval) price match amazon wireless. The problem with getting it from amazon wireless is that you are signing sprints contract with etf and amazon wireless contract and eft. So if you cancel before the two years you are paying twice as much.

Best buy does price match radio shack. I wouldn't only get the black tie though, I would get the buy back also. The black tie is cheaper if you pay for the full two years outright. It is $170 for two years with no deductible and no amount of times you can use it. It is better than paying $9.99 a month for two full years. Buy back is only $30 if you get black tie with it. It helps pay for your next phone. It is great!
