    Default Re: Are any EVO owners worried about HTC's financial problems?

    I was really on the fence about the EVO LTE.
    I'm glad I bought it, though. I've been using mine for a week.
    1. Speed is Amazing! (not 3g data speed, but the phone itself)
    2. The screen is so pretty!
    3. The camera is really good for a PHONE camera. I'm loving the dedicated camera button.

    My phone went in an Otterbox Commuter case on DAY ONE!
    I've not put a screen protector on it yet, but I'm considering a Zaggshield. I love their products. Yes, I know this phone has gorilla glass 2, but I still see the value in it. Since my phone is in a case, I don't care about the shiny vs satin finish. I love I can keep my phones in great shape by using a case and screen shield which means I have no issues selling it down the line.

    HTC did a great job making this phone what Sprint customers want in a flagship phone. The kickstand is amazing. Adding external storage capability was the right thing to do.
    So far, I'm OK with the Battery life
    Palm Pilot Pro->Palm V->BlackBerry 8100->PalmTreo650->PalmTreo680->OG iPhone->Palm Pre->OG Evo4G->EVO4GLTE, Next???

    And the public is hardly concerned with aluminum vs. plastic.The sales figures prove it. You and I have yet to hear someone come into a mobile store and ask the rep where the non plastic devices are. And when did aluminum become regarded as a high end material??? For those of you who eschew plastics, isn't the interior of your car, regardless of price, largely plastic? Your television? Your gaming system? Items you covet daily are made of plastic and you're not ing about those. I'm sure the interior of your vehicle is very attractive...and all plastic. Why should a mobile device be any different.
    What was the last non plastic device, other than the iphone, that was a big success? Crickets. I guess HTC figured they'd corner both markets and apply aluminum AND plastics to the Evo Lte.
    HTC could learn a ton about designing and marketing a device that people want to purchase, from Apple and Samsung.
    Last time I checked the Galaxy Note was ridiculed for its size yet it sold tremendously well. We call it the pork chop at my workplace as our company bought a few. The people who got them hate to hold them to their face to talk on them. Appearance sure didn't hurt it.

    Anyway, good for you for preferring plastic. Some of us prefer metal or at least solid construction. I haven't tried a single Sammy device that felt solid and I've tried quite a few since my company does a lot of mobile development and Samsung devices on AT&T are their preferred target devices - sales figures and all that (we don't have Verizon in PR, but if we had I would have had a lot of Verizon Samsung devices to play with too).

    Anyway, at the end of the day I would like other manufacturers than Samsung to do well too. That's it. I just don't see Samsung devices be all that mindblowing.
