No screen light up on notifications
I've had the HTC Evo LTE for a couple weeks and as I'm way more satisfied with the new stock htc text messaging apk than the previous one. HOWEVER, my only gripe is that when receiving a notification for anything (text, email, etc) the screen won't light up. It will only vibrate or make a sound if the volume is up. I think it's really frustrating...I like being able to have the screen turn on to let me know if I have a notification and not keep checking my phone.
Anyone else having this problem? Any fixes?

I am happy with the way it is, not lighting up is fine for me.

Re: No screen light up on notifications
Unfortunately it's not a "problem" as far as functionality, it's working as directed.
That being said, I too wish there was a way to have a choice to have it turn on, or not (for those who don't want that). Maybe this will be in a future revision down the line if enough people show interest.
Another thing I wish it would do is, when charging, still have the LED blink either in a different location (have 2 LED's) or override the orange light in favor of alerting that a notification came through.
The final thing I wish Android would incorporate into the OS is having the percentage of battery life be written on top of the battery charge indicator. I have utilized "Battery Indicator Pro" for a couple of years with 3 different phones, and while it's a fine app, I wish I didn't have to take up more space in the notification bar (or on the home screen at all) for the percentage to be shown. I know there are some mods that if rooted I can make the battery indicator show the percentage on it, but I haven't gotten there yet, and quite frankly feel like I shouldn't have to. I know...waaaaaaaa...but still, just sayin'. - 08-10-2012, 05:52 AM #4
Very glad this is not the case but I do agree its should be a option. I can't imagine my screen coming on at least 10 times an hour, my battery would not like that. Unless you have your phone in your hand all day staring at it in a very noisy room I could not see why I would ever want my phone to do this,, but I do understand that other people have different needs so there definitely should be an option.
