Default I got a new bug?

This just happened to me today: I clicked the camera icon, and the screen went entirely black after the camera animation, no image, no weird colors, no nothing. Just plain black screen. Also happens when I try to use the video camera function. Try restarting the phone, taking out the battery and putting it back in, all to no avail. Any ideas anyone?

Push and hold power button simulates battery pull.

OP said he literally pulled the battery out and put it back in.... Not that he simulated it.

If the OP's phone is in such a state that the battery is easily removable, that may answer why the camera's busted. Lol

Must have an OG EVO 4G and posted in the wrong forum.

Either that or he is a Sprint rep. Every time I talk to one of them online about some problem they always tell me to remove the battery and wait two minutes and put it back in. :-P

Lol that's what they told me during setup over the phone.

Yeahhh, I'm going to put my money on wrong forum rather than the process of opening up the EvoLTE. I mean, it's not as hard as it seems like it would be, but it's not something you'd do to do a battery pull especially when the power hold simulates it.

Nope, not a wrong forum post, nor a Sprint rep, but it's been enjoyable going through this thread and watching the flights of fancy. It actually took longer for me to sign back into Android Central because of an interface issue than it did to pop out the battery.

Pulling the battery wasn't that hard, there are actually directions on how to do it in the user's manual that comes in the box with the phone. But, for the uninitiate: look at the back of the phone, there should be a sliver of an opening, about large enough to slide a dime into (or your fingernail). Use one of the above mentioned items and slowly work your way around the back of the phone. One's the back of the phone is removed, popping the battery out is as easy as it is in any other phone, so mine's not in any 'condition' that would indicate why it is that the camera would be inoperable. Anyone else have constructive responses that might help?

Oh, yes. Additionally, I also used the power off button to restart the phone, before I tried pulling the battery. But that didn't do anything either.

Either you're the lamest, most uninspired troll on the internet, or you're completely clueless.

Not really sure which is worse at this point.

Well, foregoing your expressive use of very technical language, let's assume for the moment you seem to have figured out the problem I'm describing. What's your solution?

Best bet is to try using the phone while walking down the middle of a busy street at night. That should fix the "problem"

When you took out the battery did you check the little colored dots?
Have you by some chance replaced the stock battery with an off brand one?
