please help me lol
ok, I had the Og evo and absolutely loved it. I upgraded to the 3d, and had aweful reception and it wouldn't connect with my airrave, so I upgraded to the photon, it is the best phone ever as far as connection goes, but I love sense and the photon with blur is pretty lame! I also want a bigger screen. My wife wants my photon. Will I be happy with the reception on the 4g lte?

Re: please help me lol
I'm still stuck on 3g and reception is great for me. Data is another story, but I'm usually on wifi.
Of course, user experiences always vary. - 08-20-2012, 09:32 PM #4
The evo at least in my opinion is a great phone. I use wifi mainly at home and work and only use 3g if I'm out and about. 4G is available in some areas where I go around kc and when on is blazing fast. There are some hiccups but nothing very big at least to me. I think you would be very pleased with it.

I've gotten I would say up to par recepition with the LTE as the otherginal EVO, and def better than my old Samsung s2 which was horrible.

Just to keep it real my evo lte is plagued with connection issues both call and data. Had the og evo before the lte and my service was way better. Mine will go from a full signal to nothing but an x in the same exact spot. After the ota update that's rumored to be rolling out in a couple days ill let you know if anything improves.

I have better reception now then I did on my 3d. In fairness there has been a few upgrades in my area since I traded in my 3d. The movie theater down the street I would never have 3g inside on my evo or evo 3d but I have great reception in there on my lte.

I had the photon - it was an AWFUL phone compared to the LTE. My LTE has service where my 3D and Photon never did. It's not a whole lot better, but it makes the difference every now and again.

Re: please help me lol
considering that this is a fairly new platform, it works pretty well in d/fw. getting a brand new phone is similar to buying a new model of car, there are some inherent bugs to work out. getting roughly one ota per month is showing that support is there.
i happen to have 4g at my office and data downloads scream. 3g, not so much; as my old evo was faster. when i'm on the train, i lose 3g coverage completely (in the same spot) which never happened on the og.
the camera is just awesome (imho). the screen is amazing. sense is ok, i liked launcherpro better though.
growing pains will be encountered, patience is a good thing to have.
