Moderators!
Is there any way we can limit this forum discussion to stock devices only! Most problems are caused by people who tweak their phones, and potential buyers get turned off! Why can't we make rooters and Rommers post their problems in the hacks section? If I was someone new to smartphones, this forum would really confuse me! Just a suggestion!

Re: Moderators!
Yeah...that is factually incorrect as well as logically unsound. While some people who are rooted and running custom roms have posted problems in here I've seen just as many if not more that are stock and non-rooted. As far as the logic part goes, most people who are rooted aren't doing any dangerous tweaks to their devices. In the earlier days of Android it was easy to mess stuff up during root or flashing but now as long as you don't blatently disregard instructions it's nearly impossible. All sense based ROMs are fully functional so there shouldn't be any problems there and I haven't seen anyone complain on here about a problem while running a CM10 ROM, at least not in a dedicated thread. So yeah, I have no idea what you've been reading, but regardless those of us who root shouldn't have to post only in the development sub-forum, it gets quite a lot less traffic than the main one and again, I haven't seen rooted users mentioning problems with the phone that were due to rooting or flashing and not a fault of the phone or sense independantly.

Re: Moderators!
I would have to agree, custom ROMs maybe in the very early beta stages such as JB ports may have some flaws that cause problems. Once that hurdle is overcome, 99% of the time any custom ROM out there normally improves on the stock experience that the OEM and carrier have called a "finished" product ready for public use.

Re: Moderators!
Just to clear the air.. We do our best to keep the areas separated.
Sometimes though a thread starts up and gets rooting related posts thrown in as conversation naturally wanders from time to time.
I agree though completely with all of you, I always like to try and keep stock based device questions in the general device subforum and then anything rooting related in the rooting & hacking device related sub forums.
