I installed a different message app so I erased the stock. Didn't like the downloaded app so I went back to the stock one. Now when I open my messages this is what us on the screen everytime until I close it. How do I get rid of it??

Don't know if this will work- but I'd change the sort by and close and restart the program, if that doesn't work, change it again, restart the phone. If that works, change your sort by back to what you want.

I would cancel from there and select Sort from Menu then do as suggested above to see if it will take

How did you "erase" the stock app? It seems there is a setup file or attribute that is now missing so that preference isn't being saved.

Never erased the stock app. Just removed it from my home screen. How would I reinstall it if I do that??

Did you try settings, apps, message, erase data, and cache and re trying?
