Where is the 4G on this phone?
I just upgraded this phone alittle over a week ago coming from the EVO 4G.
I have yet to see 4G on the phone. I have never even seen the 4G symbol at the top of the phone.
I have it set to LTE/CDMA.
Is this the only setting to get 4G?
Is the reason that I am not getting 4G because there is no LTE in my areas?
I just want to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the phone. - 11-25-2012, 02:04 PM #2

Re: Where is the 4G on this phone?
I'm surprised they would put out a phone for LTE that doesn't at least revert back to 4G when they can't even support LTE for everyone yet.
I thought that I was paying for 4G. - 11-25-2012, 03:29 PM #4

Re: Where is the 4G on this phone?
I work at LAX and live in Orange County. I have not seen the LTE working in either of these locations.
We did get 4G with the OG EVO here in Orange County.
I guess at this point I just want to make sure there is no issue with the phone itself while I still can return it. - 11-25-2012, 05:05 PM #9
Re: Where is the 4G on this phone?
The only way you will know for sure is to find an area that has LTE and see if your 4G lights up. I have 4G for about 6 minutes a week (as I drive past Rockford, IL). So I know mine works.
Honestly I would be very surprised if yours didn't work once you get into an LTE area. And even if it doesn't and you are beyond your 14 day return window that would mean something is wrong with your phone and sprint would have no problems swapping it out for one that worked. - 11-26-2012, 12:09 PM #10
Re: Where is the 4G on this phone?
What Mikey said, but here is a map for your work site and part of your commute. When I travel through the area and all the way up into N. Hollywood I get a 4G signal and it's just automatic. I'm sure you have already done this, but if not toggle the network mode to CDMA only and after a few minutes toggle back to LTE/CDMA. If you still get nothing, go to a Sprint store. Ideally you would want to go to a store that's inside of an LTE area so they can see that your phone isn't connecting, yet they have phones at the store that are.
