Is it bad to leave the phone on the charger overnight? Does it ruin the battery? I've read varying opinions, curious for users takes and what you have found.

No it doesn't. Not lithium ion batteries.

The lithium ion batteries that our phones use are ok with being left on the charger all night.

Ever since the original iPhone, my phones sit on the charger all night. I've never had a problem. The software shuts off charging when the battery is full, and trickles to keep it topped off.
