Many of the pictures I've taken with my phone will appear in the camera roll on the phone, but once I've connected my phone to my PC, they do not appear in the DCIM Media folder, and thus I can't upload them to my computer. This only happens with some of the pictures, while others show up just fine. Any ideas as to why this might be?

Only pics on the external sd card will show up when connected to computer, could the others be on the phones internal storage? Try the app Airdroid if you have wifi at home or work, you can see both with that app...

When plugged in (if you are on jelly bean it'll just show up , if you are on ics you need to choose media sync) you should get 2 main folders showing up, internal storage and sd card. Check them both, by default the camera saves to the internal storage
