Used EVO LTE and it boots to team win recovery tool? HELP

I bought a used EVO LTE for sprint, it activated just fine and worked for 3 days, today it went to update the software and booted to a Team Win Recovery system, I cant get it to exit or start back up and the phone is bricked?

I am assuming the phone was rooted by the previous owner?

How do I un root it?

The battery life seemed really poor, can this be the reason?

I believe you have to wipe the phone and reflash a custom ROM. The Sprint update will not flash correctly without the *stock* recovery.

I don't think you're bricked because you can access TWRP right? Good news. Use the recovery to wipe all directories except /sdcard. Then flash a new ROM, and try rebooting.
