The FCs are gone from alpha 5 but the camera is the only thing I have found so far. I'm going to run with it as my daily driver and see if I can't find anything else.

Oh man. Now I'm tempted. What else will I have to deal with if I flash alpha 5? I don't use Wimax. Rarely use GPS. Camera is probably a sticking point.

Well the only time I had FCs is when I was closing the apps. GPS never gave me an issue but I also rarely used it. Don't think I had any reboots. I think some had some occasional reboots. For me it was fine as a daily driver but just lacked that polish feel.

Sorry for the lack of...well being here. I had to cut off the internet at the house because of some financial strain.

My girlfriend is bringing her laptop over today so I can tether my EVO to it and get all my threads updated. Thanks for being so patient with me...mrans a lot.

GAH...getting major force-closes with both ROM Manager and Titanium Backup; and the camera doesn't seem to be working at the moment. I think that I'll give Alpha 5 another shot (never saw Alpha six...!)

Cool, thanks! Not sure why alpha 7 was giving me problems; alpha 5 is running really smooth, with just a few force closes so far.

Alpha 5 was running ok for me gallery would force close a lot and the camcorder want working. Alpha 7 seems to run much faster for me however the camera does not display what I'm pointing at. It will take picture and video but I just kinda have to guess what I'm pointed at. With 7 I haven't really had any force close problems but it will freeze and completely reboot itself. Overall I like it thanks for putting you time in to it CaMelGuY1337!

Ok...just a heads up. I installed Titanium Backup and the pro key from the Market. When I go to open it...the ROM (alpha 7) reboots. Had to go a nandroid I had sitting on the SD card.

decided to run alpha7, everything is good so far (phone in airplane mode because I am in an area with no wireless/3g service). The camera video/photo preview is indeed broken, and when I played back a clip I recorded, it was all out of sync and choppy. Do any of the previous versions fix these issues or is that just something I will have to wait on?

Alpha 8 is out!
make sure to do a full wipe...everything and i mean everything works great except camera preview and panoramic . Open gl is working .. I overclocked it to 1.19 and got 32 ...

Usually when he does not mention an update like this it's going to be a quick 1 or it could be a temporary fix for something specific. I like the idea that he is working with evervolve

Camera does work - just the preview doesn't. You have to blindly aim & shoot, but it takes pictures just fine. It even takes video too.

I think you have to do that on a Sense based ROM. I know the dialer code to get into edit mode is ##3282#. It will then ask for your MSL number which you can call Sprint and ask for or use the app called "MSL Reader" which you can grab from the Market. Hope that helps.

I dont doubt there are those who have done it on other forums. Try searching google and other forums, more than likely you will find some thread explaining how to do it or some site? Been trying alpha 8 myself on my evo and it works great, set up a partition and darktremors a2sd script.
