Default I think I have hard-bricked my Evo... Confirmation? Help?

Alright guys, I need some serious help.

Tried to do a radio update on the Evo. Here's what I did:

    1. I downloaded the latest radio, as well as the newest MIUI rom.
    2. I wiped everything (except SD of course) and flashed ROM to make sure it was fine--it was.
[tested a CM7 rom here to confirm I was having signal issues and needed a new radio]
    3. Wiped again, flashed MIUI rom. After flashing the MIUI rom, I flashed the newest radio. After flashing the newest radio, I wiped again and flashed the rom again. I did all this to make sure a kernel would end up loaded on the device. No error messages or anything.

Tried to boot up, and I got the screen with the little white box and the arrow to the Android. It will not boot into HBoot either. Is there anything else I can do?

What did I do wrong? I figured I was probably duplicating steps but I didn't find any indication that I was screwing something up...

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

It magically fixed itself, and somehow reverted to some old radio. Signal issues abound. This time, I'm thinking to boot into recovery, flash the radio, and reboot without doing anything else. Good?

I normally just flash the new radio updates with no wipe and have had no issues with that.
