How do I reset the Evo?

I just got my brand new replacement Evo 4G last night. I took it home and did and S-Off root and that all went well. Then I decided that I wanted to get rid of some of the system apps, so I found this list of apps that were supposedly safe to remove, but my phone start force closing everything, including the phone app. Now I cant do anything on my phone. So i managed to work my way over to the SD Card settings, and did a reset through that option, except that seemed to make things worse because I still have all of the force closes happening, plus it looks like all of my widgets are gone.

Basically I want to put my phone back to stock, but if I can remain rooted that would be preferable. If I end up having to re root the phone after getting back to stock, that would be fine too. Thanks for your help.

Just restore your nandroid backup. With the phone off hit both the power and volume down at the same time. Now hit restore.

Thanks for your reply. I just re-flashed the stock rom and everything seems to be working ok now. Thank you
