My Evo suddenly decided to not boot. I've read several posts about this but I haven't found one that describes what mine is doing. To make it worse, 'm not a techie so I don't understand a lot of what was being said.

Here is what's going on and where it is now....
It started up and went to the white HTC screen
it would go to the yellow sprint splash
then it would start over and do it again.

I read about the power button and down volume. I tried that and went to recover. Now it is stuck at a black screen with a phone and a red triangle with an exclaimation point.

I need someone to walk me thru what I need to do using terminology that I can understand.

hi can you tell me what you did to turn your phone back on, mines doing the exact same thing as yours was.

When you get to the red triangle in the recovery, hold down the Volume Down button, and, while still holding down the Volume Down button, press Power. You will see the Stock recovery. From there, wipe cache and reboot the phone.
