So here is the situation.

I have had my Evo 4G since 5/2011 and it is rooted running CM7. Lately I have been having terrible reception anywhere I go, and almost no 3G reception unless I am downtown (I live in a suburb of Indianapolis.) On top of this, there are some slight hardware problems I have been having, such as a cracked camera lens, and something inside my phone is loose causing a disgusting noise whenever my Evo vibrates.

Should I unroot, update all my radios and take it to the Sprint store to have the hardware malfunctions looked at, or just tough it out until my upgrade?

It depends on what you are wanting to upgrade to. You could try to flash the newest radios while being rooted to see if that helps, and if not then unroot and go to Sprint for a replacement. That is what I would do.
