Restore ROM from one evo to another

My mother cracked her screen on her Evo 4g.

We purchased a new one. It has clockworkmod recovery and the cracked one has stock HTC recovery.

Can I move the .img's to the clockwordmod folder and restore without risking a brick? Or do I have to have them on the same recovery?

Yes they need to be using the same recovery to match up. Can't use CWM backup's on stock recovery and vise versa.
