Default Un-rooted Evo now stuck boot-looping

I've recently un-rooted my Evo 4g on Sprint as my 2 year plan is almost up and I'm looking to upgrade. I followed the RUU method in un-rooting my phone, but 9.9/10 times my phone gets stuck on the boot logo and continually loops. When using the RUU exe, it did note that everything was rooted properly and I was in the clear. Any help would be greatly appreciated on resolving this issue. Thanks in advance.

Initial PC36img used during the RUU Method was RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed

    ~

When holding volume down and the power button, the bootloader lists the following:

    Supersonic EVT2-3 Ship S-On
    Hboot-2.16.0001
    Radio-2.15.00.0808

    ~

When I do get into the OS:

    Current Gingerbread version: 2.3.3
    Current Kernel: 2.6.35.10-g13578ee
    Current Software No.: 4.54.651.1

ISince the original post I've updated the Hboot to 2.18.0001 in determine what's keeping this infinite loop. Now the first line of the bootloader reads Locked (OOW).

This phone being 19 months old, it's well past falling under warranty. Still, I'd like to get this phone in proper working order so it's capable of being returned for store credit when upgrading to my next phone.

With that, any information would be greatly appreciated from those well-versed on similar situations. Thanks in advance.

Did you run the RUU for the 4.67.651.3 ROM, that includes the 2.18 HBOOT? Or did you just flash the HBOOT separately?

    I flashed HBOOT 2.18 separately.

Reason being, I was trying to get out of the infinite loop that was already plaguing my phone. Since my last post, I've unlocked the phone using the the HTCdev unlock bootloader and have now hit another hurdle as I cannot get into recovery each and every time. I firmly believe in the process of un-rooting my phone that I applied drivers incompatible with one another.

I've just recently been able to wipe both the cache and delvik cache, hoping it might clear up some issues. More to come as I'll be testing the phone's stability throughout the day.
