I myself am using Swype, it's so amazing haha

There's a site called gimpsta.com where you can create your own keyboard. You can choose a background plane for your keyboard, choose the color of your letter and function keys, put your own custom image on the space bar, and choose the color of the font on the keyboard. It is AWESOME. You do not need root to load the keyboard either. Just theme it and upload the apk to your phone. =]

Interesting! Can you swap between a transparent and non-transparent keyboard? I would pay for that. The keyboard that come with Android is good, but it lacks a on-off switch for transparity.
