Default E: can't open /cache/recovery/command error when trying to update to froyo

Tried posting in the other forum with no luck...
Ive followed every instruction thread step by step and download from several sources. Also the zip file was changed to update.zip not update.zip.zip. o on the recovery screen in yellow it says
E: unable to verify whole-file signature
    E: signature verification failed
    Installation aborted
I thought I got a bad zip but I dled from 5 sources... Ive seen others with this problem but no solution found. Any ideas???

I THINK what he meant to say was PUTS the extension on twice..like renaming the file to update.zip (forgetting the zip was a hidden extension so it shows up as .zip.zip

    BUT I could be mistaken

The error message entails a issue with this file bcm4329.ko

    /system/lib/modules/bcm4239.ko

has something to do with Wifi-N. Is there a kernal out there that fixes this maybe?
