I tried rooting my HTC EVO 4G which is flashed to Cricket using these instructions.
[How To] Root New Evo4g Hboot 2.18 without Unrevoked Without HTCDEV.com Windows Only - xda-developers
Phone is still NOT rooted.
Then I saw that someone else wanted to see if it worked, but they introduced another step; namely, AFTER STEP 5
[ Went to the root folder and ran the Drivers.exe program (to install the MYHTC drivers).]
I tried this also. Phone STILL NOT ROOTED !
Does anyone have a way to Root the HTC EVO 4G running Android 2.3.3 Using an Offline method that does NOT wipe out your data like Revolutionary does? The Unrevoked Method does NOT work for this HTC.
OR can offer a solution that does not require me to have the phone re-flashed after its rooted ?
