I'm trying to install the custom hboot drivers for the unrevoked root method. Currently when I plug my phone in, the device manager recognized it as a disk drive (even in charge only mode) with the name "HTC Android Phone USB Device".

I uninstalled HTC Sync and HTC Driver listed in add/remove programs, rebooted.
Then I uninstalled the driver "HTC Android Phone USB Device", rebooted.
After system came back up, I plugged in my phone and it still loads that HTC driver.

I tried updating the driver with the hboot ones, and windows says it determined that the best driver is already installed and won't continue. How can I get rid of this existing driver, I don't see any other HTC related programs that can be uninstalled.

I'm running windows 7 Pro x64.

So when you are running unrevoked and you are at the usb plug screen you go to the windows hardware device manager, find android 1 right click update drivers, choose I'll locate and just highlight the driver folder click ok and it should take off.
