Default CM 6.1 Stable Unable to download Google addon

I have HTC Evo and I want to try out the CM 6.1 stable, but I keep getting an error every time I try to download the Google Add-on with the new ROM. How do I get around this? Thanks in advance. J.

Are you trying to download the gapps thru rom manager? I had the same issue. Download the newest gapps thru here Latest Version/Google Apps - CyanogenMod Wiki save it to ur sd card, then flash it in recovery.

Yes I was. So, I apply CM 6.1, then go through recovery in ROM Manager to apply Google addon? I just want to make sure I understand.
    Thanks, J.

Flash cm6 and in the same recovery session flash the g apps.
Some say the glass is half empty. Some say its half full. I say, "Are you going to drink that?"

Do it through the phone instead of RM. You'll need to get used to flashing in clockwork anyways.
