How do I change my keyboard on Mikfroyo 4.5

How do I change to a gingerbread keyboard or something similar without the arrow keys at the bottom. When hitting the space I frequently hit the back arrow key and it constantly screws me up. I loved the CM6 keyboard but I dont want CM until 7 is stable. Can someone give me some detailed links/explanation on how I can get a better keyboard to suit my needs?

You can download different keyboards from the market or find some apk's to install. To change them just make sure you go press Menu > Settings > Language & Keyboards. Make sure you select the keyboards in that menu.

To activate them, go to any text input field (SMS, twitter, facebook, ect.) and long press in the text field. A box will show up saying "Input Method", press that and select your desired keyboard.

I personally use Thumb Keyboard.
