Default Apple lawsuit - not good news!

I wonder what the end result will be for us Evo users.

Nothing will change for us. It will only affect new htc device purchases.

The patents are so generic sounding and came out in the mid-90s... HTC just needs to fight this.
ROM: ThunderRom 1.8.3 (best battery life and features... even "Dead")
Kernel: XioniaRedux 2.6.32.33-ck2 08312011 ( I love the multi touch!)

Wow, I don't think I've seen an article on this issue with as much fear mongering as the link provided. The guy comes across as an Apple fanboy's biggest fantasy. Android is doomed! HTC is done for! The sky is falling!

Please. It's an initial ruling by a single judge that is subject to review, for one. Two, the patents in question are so muddled and generic that Motorola is challenging them as well. Three, even if the worst comes to pass, HTC had already stated they have options.

Whatever the outcome, it won't be settled for a long time. So deep breaths, and step away from the over-inflammatory blog posts.

    Why Android users shouldn't worry:

How HTC May Survive Apple's Brutal Legal Assault:

In the end I think these patents are rather broad and the ruling may not hold up.
