Since it doesn't look like AC is going to have a release date prediction contest like PreCentral did for the Pre, we might as well chime in anyway. What date do you think the Evo's hitting the streets?

I predict May 23. The date will probably be announced on the last day of Google IO (5/20) as part of a string of Android announcements (Flash, other Froyo goodness, etc.), and Sprint traditionally releases "it" phones on Sundays. I'm thinking May rather than June for two reasons: to avoid marketing in the wake of WWDC, and because of the [Only registered users can view links. ] where an anonymous Google engineer replied "sooner" to someone who threw out the widely expected June 6 release date.

Mu bet would also be 5-22/23 so it would not ruin the pop with any new google features that would not be announced until G-IO, but since you have already taken that weekend I am going to go with 5-15/16 the weekend after the launch party. I doubt it will happen but I can always dream. I think it will be before June though.

I am saying June 13th or even June 20th. "Summer" starts June 21st.

That's my reasoning.

LOL, if that were really the case, I'd hire a cab to go to the closest Best Buy I can find in Cali (have to go there for a seminar for the weekend) and buy it there before flying back to FL on Sunday

I highly doubt that will happen though, just asking a few Best Buy Employees (I know, I know!), and they predicted the pre order date to be late May or early June.

Date: At such a time that somehow Apple's new iPhone ruins the launch just like with the Pre.

Based on past Sprint "big" releases, I'd say I'm gonna be pretty accurate here.

I hope the weekend of May 23, i have a raod trip from the East Coast to the West coast the 2nd week of June so I would love to test out the 4g experience (i start in Baltimore).

Well Sprint is already releasing the Blackberry Bold 9650 on May 23rd so my guess is the EVO will be released the same time. Sprint has released multiple new phones on the same day in the past. I also believe that the will announce the release date on May 12th at the Sprint HTC EVO Movie event.
