Pre ordering the EVO this month????

Hey guys im sure u all read about the leaked document from radio shack about the EVo being available for pre ordering this very same month, called the shack and spoke to a manager here in south florida he was very conservative at the biggining but at the end looses up he adv me that according to wath he knows the pre orders will start on may after the EVo event on new york and that authorized dealers stores like best buy and the shak were gonna start taking pre orders for $50......exiting right what do guys think anybody has found something about this??? or maybe this guy just did his day with me...lol

That sounds logical to me, pre orders after the big show. Question is...how long from pre order date until the Evo is in hand?

Good question. I think I'll call a local store as well and see what I can find out.

So, I called three stores. First store the guy said that "The Shack" DOES NOT do pre-orders for phones. Store number two had absolutely no clue what I was even talking about and store three said that the phone was coming out in July and that I should call sprint about pre-orders. GMAFB!!!

The leaked screenshot tells you exactly where to look for info. I know it won't help us any, but if you talk to "The Shack" you can tell them exactly where to look to find info.

It says to "look on Answers Online under Products > Product Reference Sheets > Wireless > Sprint"

Anyone who talks to "The Shack" and gets an employee who doesn't know what you're talking about should direct them there.

Sadly, there's a big *** EVO picture with the link to that posting right on our internal homepage. You'd have to be blind not to see it.

I live in the east valley in Az and after just calling almost 10 "shack" stores I got a guy on the phone that claims he has been digging for info just as much as anybody else has. I asked if he had any info on the phone that's more than what is displayed on their site and he did say that the corporate guy that comes in is really kool and told him there won't be any play models for any specialist employees in any of the stores out this way like the sightings posted in Florida or Iowa. So he's obviously been following closely because that's more or less something we've read on the forums and the average Joe wouldn't know about. He also said the memo sent out was telling people not to give further info when they do receive it... But his corporate guy said they were leaning towards the 199.00 price for new customers including instant rebate in store and that the phone will do simultaneous data/voice on 4g ONLY. I know this isn't the specific post for this but this is the "extensive" info he knew.He took down my name n number(like most stores are doing) but said he would call or text from his phone as soon as he found anything more. I don't know the guy and neither do you but this is what I was told, so take it with a grain of... What's that stuff called?

Working at Best Buy Mobile our preorders tend to start 2 weeks before the official street dates. So makes sense that in the next week or 2 there should be preorders starting.

That's gonna lead to more May release speculation.

Radio Shack is the worst retailer I've dealt with. Especially for phones. No clue what they're selling and don't really seem like they care besides making a sale.

I really don't care if the person who is making the sale knows anything i just want the phone and in my experience the shack has given very good prices and offers of instant rebates in previous handsets so if that guy who adv that will be instant rebates is right ...boy im on the shack for suuuuuure..
