Evo wont uninstall apps!

I've repeatedly tried to uninstall a couple apps (startup cleaner & startup manager). I've tried the native uninstaller, ez uninstaller, and even the "adb uninstall" command, which says success the first time then failure if I rerun with the same package name (like com.bright.startup2 or imoblife.startupmanager). It appears to be uninstalled but upon rebooting, both apps are back with a service running!

What can I do?

I've had good success with titanium backup, assuming your rooted of course. It will actually let you remove system apps by means of a recovery exploit. Just be wary of what you remove, I suggest doing a nandroid before experimenting with the sysyem apps..
