$10 a month even if you don't have 4g coverage???

I just pre-ordered my EVO on Saturday and was surprised to hear that even if you don't live in an area that has 4g coverage, you are still required to pay the $10 a month extra for it. Now, I am all for paying the $10 a month for 4g IF it was available in my area but why should we pay for a service that we don't have access to? Am I the only one that feels this way?

Because they expect the Evo to be heavily used as a multimedia machine, just like the iPhone. This topic has been thoroughly discussed ever since all this was announced last wednesday.

The 10 dollar fee isnt for 4g service, It's for data usage in general, you get unlimited data whether you are on 3g or 4g, as opposed to the 5GB cap you had before.
