Homescreens in Landscape?

Say i'd want to leave the phone on the kickstand on my desk, is there a setting to view the home screen in landscape? In all the reviews I've seen, it remains in portrait mode looking very uncool!

Also, does email show in landscape view?

Home screens = No.
Email = Yes.

I've seen Android do landscape home screens, but it usually requires a hacked ROM be installed. Of course I have no idea if Android 2.2 (Froyo) includes landscape home screens, but 2.1 out of the box does not, unfortunately.

Sometimes you wonder if anyone actually *uses* the technology before it is released. I noticed this within 10 seconds of picking up an Android phone in the store. It was odd then; with the EVO having a kickstand it is REALLY odd.

I hope HTC builds Sense 2.2 to work in Landscape. We'll have to wait and see.
