I'm a little worried about the size.
Do most of you that have it already like the size?

I can't resist, "that's what she said"
funnily enough I got my case today and it's the size of the phone (it should be!). It's very manageable, I'm 5'11 and have a dense bone structure with decently sized hands. I pretended I had the phone, I can reach anywhere on the display with my thumb for one handed use.Fred

I'm 5'8 and have smaller hands. But what does this phone look like while talking on it?

If you're having second thoughts about the phone at this point you might as well not even bother getting it. Maybe a "cute" little HTC Aria would be more up your alley.

i just saw a display model, and it's big, but by no means mammoth. i'm 5'10" with medium size hands and i could use it it one handed, i'm sure.

I've got a pre now, and I'm not talking about operating it. I want to know how comfortable it is as a phone(talking on it).

In phone standards the EVO is MUCH bigger than the iPhone. Any person who has not had the opportunity to see the Evo in person and is coming from a Pre or a Blackberry will definitely be shocked (for lack of a better word) by the size.
That said, it is a solid phone and has to be the best built phone that I have seen. The size may take some getting used to, but it is definitely NOT a deal breaker...you have been conditioned to buy/use small phones for the past 10 + years....now carriers are going to start making bigger phones. People want nice, big, bright screens, so they can play their games and surf the net.Thanked by: - 06-02-2010, 07:33 PM #13
I agree. Comming from a pre and having a dummy phone in my hands for the first time today, it is shocking to see the difference. That being said, it is very comfortable in the hand and extremely well built. Not like the Pre where it feels like a big piece of sliding plastic.

Ok thanks you put my mind at ease. Looking forward for Friday now.

I don't mind the size of the EVO, just the location of the kickstand baffles me.... The dumy unit atleast, I'm hoping the real phone is better balanced weight wise come Friday.

It is not any better believe me lol.
Overall though I am very impressed with the build quality on the handset. I sell phones for a living and this is probably one of the best feeling devices on the market right now.
The size is not much of an issue. I have been walking around with one in my pocket for a few days now at work and you can barely tell it's there.Thanked by: - 06-02-2010, 08:02 PM

Cool I'm just a bit worried I'm coming from the pre and before that the razor, and thats about it.

I'm a girl... coming from the Pre and I went to touch and rub all up on the dummy model at my local Best Buy the other day and it is quite bigger than the Pre.
I also got my case & holster today and while it is much larger than the Pre as a 5'5" woman I doubt I'll have any problems handling a phone of this size...
and before the rest of you do it....
That's what she said :P - 06-02-2010, 08:44 PM #19
I was walking through Wal-Mart and saw the HTC HD2 demo. Which is close in size and it isn't all that big.

Someone had to say it! I think I'll get used to the size, though it's really not a great deal larger than the IPhone... and I see HUGE cases on IPhones all of the time. Since I'm going the Invisishield rout, I think the sleek sexiness will be just right in my hands.

so just try it out at the store... see if it works ok for you. if not... get a Hero or Moment or something.
