Anyone notice this? Kinda odd why they only light up when unplugged. To reproduce this, plug in the evo and press the power button to turn off the screen. Now turn it back on and press the hardware buttons. No light up. How did something like that get by?

ive noticed, but i dont think its anything wrong.....i figured they werent needed when its sleeping and charging. they light up when its being used, if they didnt then id worry.

I like to use the device sometimes at night on the charger and when I click the hardware buttons the lights don't come back on...has to be unplugged to work

HTC designed it that way, my EVO and Incredible both are that way

Agreed. I use my phone while charging most of the time and this is going to be an annoyance...

So that's the problem, saw a post on another forum that suggested the phone be returned.
I was wondering why I had an intermittent problem.
