There are times that I'd prefer to tether my Evo 4G to my Mac via USB rather than WiFi. I understand that, since I'm already paying the extra fees associated with the Evo's Wifi tethering, that I would also be able to usb USB tethering. For Windows I understand you have to install the HTC software and then it should "just work." But when I plug the Evo into my Mac and choose "internet sharing", a new "Android Phone" device appears in my network devices list. So maybe the drivers are already built in? The only problem is that the Mac is asking for some information (telephone number, user name, and password), and I'm not sure what to fill in for these (or even if they are necessary). Or maybe I'm just barking up the wrong tree and this won't work at all. I know you can do it with third party software like pdanet, etc., but would prefer not to have to use those if possible.
