Re: Update irritation......
The optimizer will allow your phone to automatically switch from 3g to 4g to wifi based. (I told my phone not to use it as I use toggles for to turn on / off the different radios and I don't live in an area where there is wifi everywhere).
You can use the disable feature to prevent unwanted apps to load up in the background or run. I am using this to disable all of the bloatware (NASCAR app, Facebook app, etc.) The apps are still there taking up valuable internal memory space. But they won't clog up your app list and they won't be running in the background. - 07-20-2012, 04:58 PM

Re: Update irritation......
OK. So I got the update and the connection optimizer is checked, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I have my home wifi network as a remembered network but it doesn't connect unless I turn on wifi. Same for 4G. I get 4g in my home (not great) but it only connects if I turn on 4G. Am I doing something wrong? My phone just stays on 3G all of the time unless I turn on wifi or 4g.

Honestly I turned off the optimizer thing. I already stress enough about battery life and the 4g around here is spotty and crap as it is. I normally only use wifi at my house. I would use it at work but we don't have a dedicated wifi router for employees so we get to the customer wifi which connects but doesn't actually work and they haven't gotten it fixed yet so it is counter productive.
