    Default Evo videos on HDTV

So I just got the HDMI cord and it hooks up to my tv, I can view photos and 720p videos recorded from my phone but thats about it.

Is there a way to play videos that are stored on the phone onto the tv?

I have an ipod compatible version of iron man for instance, but it wont play on my samsung tv, my tv says "mode not supported"

Its like the tv only wants 720p output.

So I am sitting here trying to put a video file on my phone that has a native 1280x720 resolution that will play on my phone.

Any ideas? Anyone successfully watching movies yet through there Evo onto the TV?

I'm also interested in finding this out, because I'm rocking a few HD movies on my Evo now that it's got a 32GB SD card
Just a tweeting away... or doing art. Also, using my Dropbox to add files to my HTC Evo and Motorola Xoom!

I could be wrong but Rock Player doesn't work through HDMI. I wish it did...

I have bunch of videos that are stored on my phone (ranging from 640x480 to 800x452) and they all play fine on my Samsung HDTV via micro-HDMI using the stock video player or doubleTwist.
