Do you or your buddy use a case? I am currently using a gel case and a zagg protector and have no damage.

BTW, have anyone noticed this: when I power down the phone, I have to wait about 30 seconds to be able to boot it back on. I have also noticed that if connected to the charger, it won't turn back on unless disconnected first. Have never had this happen on any smartphone before.

I've never had either of those issues. Are you using the stock charger?

Oh boy, now we gonna hear that all Evo's are getting cracks just like the screen separations. I think i'll stop reading these problem Evo posts, just like my old pre, I have no issues. I suggest you and your friend exchange it for another one before your 30 days expire.

Yeah, I had the same issue
http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-...ng-my-evo.html
..and the final result for me is that the Evo turns off the screen before it's done shutting down all the services and powering off the CPU. Give it 10-15-20 seconds and powering on should be no issue. Longer than that, and it's locked up somehow and the battery pull is necessary.Sprint Galaxy S3 - rooted but still stock for now.
